As soon as you arrive in Geneva, your child will have regular medical checkups with the staff of the immigrants health consultation (pediatrics) at the children’s hospital.
These checkups will continue until you have a good enough command of French or you find a pediatrician in Geneva who speaks a language you know.
All children arriving in Geneva have access to these checkups whether you are residing here legally (residency permit, insurance) or not.
Children over 13 years old generally receive medical care at the Young People’s Health Unit.
Later you will be able to choose a pediatrician with the help of the immigrants health consultation or through its two networks of pediatricians:
- The Geneva Pediatrics Society has an alphabetical list of general practitioner pediatricians with the languages they speak. Access to the directory: http://www.pediatre-ge.ch/fr/repertoire?sid=55:pediatre
- The network of Genevan pediatricians has a list arranged by location. Access to the list of pediatricians by location: http://www.rpge.ch/rpgech/index.php/fr/pediatres
