Who gets a B permit?

GROUNDS FOR GRANTING A B PERMIT:

A B permit (credit card size) is issued to the nationals of third-party countries in the following cases in particular:

  • Following a decision by the Secrétariat d’État aux migrations (State Secretariat for Migration – SEM) to grant asylum following a request for asylum in Switzerland
  • Family reunification
  • Case of special hardship after 5 years of residency in Switzerland (art. 14 al 2 LAsi)
